The 13th edition of the annual EFPE conference came to an end on June 7, 2013.
The EFPE 2013 – the Europe’s largest conference on electronic signature and PKI issues was attended by 130 participants from 21 countries. Among them there were the representatives of European Commission and Technical Committee of European Telecommunication Standards Institute (TC ETSI), government offices and agencies, producers of software and hardware solutions and certificate authorities providing services related to electronic signature.
This year’s edition of EFPE included was held under the honorary patronage of, inter alia, Deputy Prime Minister of Poland Minister of Economy Janusz Piechociński.
The conference was completely successful and provided the participants with a lot of insightful information. Numerous speeches and presentations evoked heated discussions between PKI experts. Inspired by those discussions, the international participants of conference decided to create the EFPE 2013 Final Statement on new EU Trust Services Framework, which reflects all their hopes and expectations regarding the European Union Regulation (proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market). The final statement is addressed among others to lawmakers and policy shapers, representatives of governments and other institutions which supports the internal electronic market and the common European area of trusted services.
We hope that with this document we can reach more spectacular results and conclusions which will significantly drive European Commission activities and contribute to achieve legislative and business goals.
